How you join.

  1. Apply.

    Your name as on the register, enrolment number, date of appointment, State and languages, with your photo, certificate of appointment and oath of office. Then an identity check.

  2. Review.

    Legatee checks your details against the Supreme Court’s register and emails you the decision.

  3. Set up.

    Set your Signing PIN, which issues your signing identity. Add a payout account. Set your hours.

  4. Registration.

    Legatee records your registration with the Chief Registrar for electronic acts. From then on, clients can book you.

Your seal.

Every sealed document ends with a certificate page: what was sworn, acknowledged, attested or certified, the parties, how they were identified, and “Done at Lagos State on 26 October 2026.” At its foot, your seal, or one generated with your name and enrolment number, beside the act’s reference and QR code.

Appointment
Appointed a notary public by the Chief Justice of Nigeria.
Enrolment
Your Supreme Court enrolment number.
Documents
Your certificate of appointment and oath of office. An image of your seal, if you have one.
Practice
A State of practice, and the languages you work in.
Identity
An identity check, as every client passes.
Registration
Registration with the Chief Registrar for electronic acts (Notaries Public Act 2023, section 5).
